Botanical Provisions in Pittsburgh, PA

Founded in 2009 by self taught perfumer Heather Sielaff, each fragrance continues to be hand blended and bottled to order. OLO Fragrance perfume oils are made with coconut oil, essential oils, key accords and absolutes. Synthetics are used sparingly. All natural products are listed as such. No animal testing.

SCENT DESCRIPTIONS:

Arboreta: Green Leaves, Birch, Fir & White Musk. Surrender to sleep and dream of wandering tree lined paths. Every turn reveals disparate shades of green, sunlight filtering through rain soaked leaves.

Cedar & Rose: Cedar, Rose & Rosewood. Reminiscent of a stroll through the Portland Rose Test Garden. The wind carried scent of cedar from the forest, intertwined with a field of roses.

Dark Wave: Cardamom, Indonesian Vetiver & Wood. Originally created for a fall event kicking off the dreary rains set to inundate Portland for nine months. The scent is meant to envelop you, to protect you from the downpour.

Erastus: Tobacco, Whiskey & Wood. Imagine old man Erastus taking a walk through the Coastal Range. He gets to a cliff overlooking the ocean, takes out the small cedar box holding his tobacco and rolls up a smoke.

Forêt: Cedar, Juniper, Pine & Vetiver. It represents all the forests you have ever taken a walk through.

Lightning Paw: Bergamot, Jasmine, Patchouli & Vanilla. Free-spirited and feminine without even trying to be, a reflection of her.

Meadow: Bitter Orange, Lavender, Evergreen, Labdanum. Late afternoon sunlight washes over you, warming the breeze borne from the meadow like a gentle whisper of juniper, lavender and coniferous evergreen.

Nationale 6/7: Jasmine, Lemon, Rose & Sandalwood. Nationale is a gallery/shop in Portland. This scent was created in collaboration with owner, May Barruel. Like the old world rose soaps in her shop, it smells like a perfume from another time and place.

Palo Santo: Palo Santo, Siam Wood, White Champa Flower. Palo Santo or “holy wood” has been burned by healers for years to cleanse, purify and protect the spirit. This blend is a modern take on energy clearing rites of old.

Toji: Yuzu, Hinoki & Hiba. Based on the baths popular in Japan during winter solstice. A bright citrus similar to grapefruit, yuzu is floated in steaming hot tubs of water. Hiba wood from the bath mats brings forth the wet warmth of cedar.

Vetiver: Vetiver, Saffron. The scent of Vetiver’s deep grass roots is an amalgam of life from the soil, the essence of the earth.

Victory Wolf: Smoke, Wood. This scent makes you feel like it’s there for a reason, an event or an act caused it to be. It’s the lingering smoke left on your clothes after a night around the fire.

Violet/Leather: Leather, Rosewood & Violet. “Forgiveness is the fragrance that the violet sheds on the heel that has crushed it.”- Mark Twain

Wyeth: Pine Resin, Salt Water, Moss. An elevating mist blowing off the ocean combined with wet moss and wood from the trees along the Northwest coast.

Care: Hoya’s need a bright spot, they can handle a few hours of direct sun, but much more will burn them. Water when top half of soil is dry, appreciates humidity.

Scent Descriptions:

Amber: A warm drink, that first smell of crisp leaves, looking through an old photo album. Amber emulates coziness but with a subtle hint of sweetness that makes it still season-less. This scent is made up of a blend of amber, citrusy orange and earthy sandalwood. 

Campfire: A warm familiar, an early morning coffee, memories of smoke from your grandfather’s pipe. This scent is made up of cedarwood and vanilla accented with a soft base note of smoke.

Desert: A quiet night in Joshua Tree at dusk, the open air and the sound of your favorite record. This scent is made up of fresh mint mixed with lavender. 

Moss: A perfect weekend, a walk through the woods, a quiet and glowing sunset. This scent is made up of sage and citrusy orange over a base of dark musk.

Mountain: A road trip to nowhere, the first sign of snow, an evening spent by the cozy fire. This scent is made up of crisp balsam fir mixed with a hint of warm amber. 

Driftwood: The perfect brisk day, a walk along the beach at dusk with a cup of coffee. This scent is made up of the warm and earthy scent of potting soil balanced out with the sweetness of tobacco and fig.

Citrus: An iced tea with fresh lemon, entertaining in a kitchen on a hot summer afternoon. This scent is made up of bright grapefruit and orange deepened by hints of cardamom and ginger.

Fields: A meadow, a handful of wild flowers. This scent is made up of a blend of bright basil mixed with the fresh scent of lime and geranium. 

Forest: An early morning walk, the brisk cold, a breath of fresh air. This scent is made up of an herbal medley of rosemary, eucalyptus, and peppermint.

Library: Leather bound books, a warm wool coat, a manhattan on the rocks. This scent is made up of sandalwood, leather, and vanilla.

Rose: A feeling that you always go back to, a stack of love letters, a quiet moment in front of the fire. This scent is made up of a warm mix of the fresh scent of rose with rich black pepper and smoke. 

Fern: An early morning hike in the Pacific Northwest. The smell of the dew on the leaves mixed with the richness of the earth. The warmth of Frankincense and Vetiver mixed with the brightness of Bergamot.

Fog: A calm, overcast morning by the coast. Fog comes together in a soft, earthy blend that feels grounded, clean, and quietly fresh, like fog rolling through the pines. Scents of clay, sandalwood & vetiver.
