In-Home repotting

Have a plant that’s too big to bring into the shop? Or, maybe too many? We’ll come to you!

How it works: Email us at SynthesisPGH@gmail.com. Let us know how many plants, their sizes and their names, if you know them. Photos are always appreciated as well. If you need larger pots, we recommend going up an inch or two from what it’s currently in, unless you think it’s quite root bound and really could use more room. We can bring them, if you want to order them from us, or we’ll happily work with what you’ve got. Please make sure pots are clean if suppling your own. We like to use Dr. Earth Pot of Gold Organic All-Purpose Potting Soil for any Pothos, Philodendrons, Calatheas, Marantas and other similar houseplants. For Aroids, Palms, Ficus and other tropical plants that require a faster draining mix we go for Fox Farm Bush Doctor Coco Loco. We make our own cactus soil.

Our rates: We’ll come to you for $75, this includes one hour of our time plus1.5 cf bag of soil. If more soil is needed each additional bag of Dr Earth will be $22 and Fox Farm will be $30. Soil is charged by the whole bag. If more time is needed each additional hour will be $65 and will be billed by the hour. If you live more than 6 miles from the shop, an additional travel fee will be added.

If you have cacti and succulents that you’d like repotted, please send us all of the info first. This soil costs us a lot more to make. Plus, we pretty much always leave with spines stuck in our skin, so it’ll potentially be a higher rate.

In-Store Repotting

Plants and pots purchased in store, at time of of purchase: Free for up to a 8” pot, $3 for 10”-11” pots, $5 for 12-14” pots, $8 for 15” pots

For pots and tropical plants that are not purchased in store: $5 for up to a 6” pot, $10 for 8”-10” pots, $15 for 12”-14” pots, 15” pots and above are a case by case basis.

For pots and cacti that are not purchased in store: $6 for up to a 6” pot, $15 for 8”-10” pots, $25 for 12”-14” pots, 15” pots and above are on a case by case basis.

We will always try to repot your plant while you wait, but if we’re busy, we may ask you to come back later in the day. If you’re unable to return that day, we’ll add an additional $10 babysitting charge per plant, per week.

If we find bugs on your plants, we will not repot them, please check them first so you don’t waste a trip.

out of Town Care

Going out of town? Worried about your plant buddies while you’re away? We can help with that! We can come and check on your plants and care for them as often as you’d like while you’re away. Prices start at $65 per visit. Email us at SynthesisPGH@gmail.com to get the conversation started.

Business or Home plant design & Maintenance

Looking to add some greenery to your home or business? We’ll come check out your space to see what will work with the lighting you’ve got. We’ll talk to you about your budget and what you’re hoping to accomplish. Once we’ve done that we’ll send over a proposal and if you approve it, bring in your plants.
